1.    Define power of a lens.

2.    Which mirror is used as a rear view mirror in automobiles? Why?

3.    What are the characteristics of image formed by plane mirrors?

4.    State Snell’s Law for refraction of light.

5.    What are the values of (i) angle of incidence (ii) the angle of reflection for normal incidence on a plane mirror surface?

6.    The refractive index of water and glass w.r.t air are 4/3 and 3/2 respectively. Find the refractive index of glass w.r.t water.

7.    Define critical angle for a medium. State the conditions necessary for total internal reflection.
 

8.    Draw ray diagrams to show the formation of image of an object by a concave mirror when the object is placed
i) Beyond Centre of curvature    ii)       between focus and pole of the mirror
